CONSTRUCTING THE VISIBLE

The introduction for Martim Brion will be given by Dr. Mathias Listl, curator at Museum für Konkrete Kunst (Museum for Concrete Art) in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The exhibition CONSTRUCTING THE VISIBLE brings together works by Martim Brion (*1986, Lisbon) and the internationally renowned artist Günther Förg (1952-2013).

The painter, sculptor and photographer Günther Förg is one of the outstanding German artists of the present day. His abstract works, which feature geometric forms and schematic clarity, are influenced by European modernism and American minimal art. They are also characterized by his love of architecture, which is particularly evident in his photographic works.

The great interest in architecture, clarity and geometric, clear forms can also be found in Martim Brion’s work. Brion’s work is also a combination of different, converging interests, from the use of literary references to the search for a sophisticated, balanced form in his sculptural work. He also creates a kind of visual diary, which he reveals in his photography, or focuses on in his digital works.
