Corneille (real name Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo) was a Dutch painter, sculptor, poet and a co-founder of the artist group CoBrA.
He possessed an expressive and fast style, although much more refined than his colleagues of the CoBrA group. With the dissolution of the group, his technique also changed. His paintings developed a strong colorfulness and had a much more reduced structure.
