Tania Brassesco (*1986, Venice) & Lazlo Passi Norberto (*1984, Verona) work as an artist
duo in the field of art photography. Their works have been shown in galleries,
collections and museums in multiple cities, like New York,
Paris, London, Milan, Rome and Venice and have been
well-recognized in the international art scene.
In their second solo
exhibition at GALERIE ISABELLE LESMEISTER they’re showing their series BEHIND
THE VISIBLE. Tania & Lazlo’s staged photographies guide us through
universes, charged with symbols and tales. BEHIND THE VISIBLE is bringing the
past back to life and gives the beholder the sense of being held in a never
ending dream.
The works of the artist duo
are composed art photographies – meticulously planned, researched and
organized. The means of realization used by Tania & Lazlo are unique to the
understanding of photography in the contemporary art scene, as they show an unusual,
staged approach to the creation of their photographs.
The images of the series
BEHIND THE VISIBLE were all created in the United States, where the artists
were confronted with an inherently different culture, which in turn only made
their desire to assert themselves in the international art scene grow even
stronger. Tania & Lazlo’s works posses a strong cinematographic aesthetic
and connections to literature, performances, installations, and especially to
important artistic references.
