With In Between, Galerie Lesmeister presents the first solo show in Regensburg by Berlin-based artist Tomislav Topic (born in Hanover in 1985). Following his participation in the group exhibition Mind Maps in 2022, Topic now offers a comprehensive insight into his current work, which includes a large-scale installation and a large-format kinetic work.
Topic works at the intersection of painting, space, and perception. His works combine structure and lightness, color and movement, system and intuition. The exhibition In Between addresses precisely this state: the in-between, the open, the changeable. Between surface and space, between silence and movement, between seeing and experiencing.
Topic has become known primarily for his impressive installations in public spaces in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the USA. His visual language is characterized by a radical reduction to color and form—universally readable, visually precise, and at the same time poetically open.
With In Between, Galerie Lesmeister is not only opening a new exhibition, but also an expanded space of perception: Tomislav Topic’s works transform the space into a moving field – a place between structure and atmosphere, rationality and sensuality.
