White Noise

White Noise brings together four distinct positions in contemporary photographic art. In the works of Roberto Ghezzi (1978, Italy), Nicola Hackl-Haslinger (1974, Austria), Uwe Langmann (1985, Germany), and Hannah Schemel (1994, Germany), nature unfolds in a quiet yet powerful presence.

The exhibited photographs navigate the field between documentary precision and abstract reduction. Ghezzi captures the interplay between time and stillness. Hackl-Haslinger finishes her sensitive portraits of nature by hand with 24-carat gold. Langmann follows the aesthetic principle of mono no aware derived from Zen Buddhism. In Schemel’s detailed close-ups of natural forms, the viewers’ own memories find subtle reflection.

The title White Noise, originally a term from acoustics, alludes to the visual background resonance of nature – the murmur of wind, light, and time. The works demonstrate a profound focus on form, structure, and atmosphere. They evoke the echo of a natural world that speaks without raising its voice.

White Noise is presented as a partner exhibition of the International Festival of Photographic Images, Regensburg.
