Dali (*1904 in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain; † 1989 ibid) is the most famous and controversial painter, graphic artist, sculptor and film-maker of surrealism.
According to his paranoiac-critical method, he painted not the visible objects, but those which he associated with them. He is considered the real narrator of surrealism, his paintings are the story of eros and downfall, of joy and sorrow. He is the “absolute surrealist with many faces”.
